Visiting Warsaw’s Copernicus Science Centre: What to Expect Before You Go

Warsaw’s Copernicus Science Centre is one of the city’s strongest indoor attractions, especially for visitors who want something more interactive than a traditional museum. The experience is built around experimentation, movement and discovery, with more than 400 exhibits spread across permanent galleries. Instead of quietly passing objects in display cases, visitors move through a space full of mirrors, robotics, kinetic installations, digital displays and hands-on science.

The centre is located at Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie 20, 00-390 Warsaw, close to the river. The easiest way to get there is the M2 metro to Centrum Nauki Kopernik. You can also use buses 106, 118 and 127 to Biblioteka Uniwersytecka, or 162 and 185 to Metro Centrum Nauki Kopernik. From Warsaw Central Station, bus 127 is direct. From Chopin Airport, the most practical public transport links are bus 175 toward the city centre, bus 188 toward Metro Politechnika, or rail links from the airport station on SKM S2 and KM/RL trains.

Regular exhibition opening hours are usually Monday to Thursday 9:00-18:00, Friday 9:00-20:00, Saturday and Sunday 9:00-19:00. Standard exhibition tickets are 48 zł on weekdays and 50 zł on weekends and holidays, with reduced tickets at 34 zł and 36 zł. Combined tickets with a 2D planetarium show cost 68 zł on weekdays and 70 zł on weekends and holidays. Tickets are best purchased in advance online, because if a slot is unavailable online, it will not be available at the venue either.

For travel planning, Copernicus works especially well as a family visit, a rainy-day activity, or a half-day stop between other Warsaw sights. It is the kind of attraction that feels energetic from the moment you enter, and the atmosphere comes through strongly even on a simple walk-through: art, science, design and curiosity all mixed into one memorable space.
