Keramoti town is the closest port to Thassos island.

It takes about 35 minutes for the ships to cover the distance.

Thasos town, Limenas, is the capital with a population of over 3.000.

Limenas Thasou is about 31 km southeast of Kavala.

Limenas means port in Greek.

Modern Limenas is built west from the ancient town.

Archaeological museum of Thasos displays various exhibits from the Neolithic to the Roman period.

The highest mountain, Ipsarion, peeks at 1203 meters.

The total coastline expands to 95 km.
