Fraport Greece

Fraport Greece showcased its latest airport services, including self-service bag drop and automated boarding gates. We had the opportunity to see firsthand how these new technologies will be implemented across the Hellenic airports they manage, promising a more streamlined and efficient travel experience for passengers.

TheTA Transport

What’s TheTA?

TheTA, the Transport Authority of Thessaloniki, oversees public urban transport in the region, including bus, metro, rail, and sea services, with a focus on sustainable mobility. We got a glimpse of the new ticketing machines set to be installed on buses and the metro system.

Germany Is The Honoured Country

This year's event, with Germany as the Honoured Country, will focus on new proposals in technology, education, environmental protection, energy, start-ups and e-government. It is worth noting that Germany was supposed to be the honored country in 2020, which ultimately did not happen due to the coronavirus.

"Germany has one of the largest participations of an Honored Country in the history of the TIF", noted the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Greece, Andreas Kindle, while expressing his joy for this year's presence of Germany in the TIF with 135 entries representing companies, organizations, institutions, research centers and collaboration networks.

Asked about German investments in Greece, Andreas Kindle emphasized that there is great interest in the area of RES and energy.

The German delegation headed by the Vice Chancellor of the German Government, Dr. Robert Habeck, and the presence of the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Cem Özdemir, will be particularly crowded with 400 people, mainly high-ranking executives of organizations and businesses.

Pavilion 13 will cover 6,000 m2, with an impressive construction with metal and wood as the main elements and with a "green" orientation friendly to visitors. Germany's exhibitors come from the sectors: Construction, Consultancy, Renewable Energy and Environmental Technology, Information Technology and Digital Economy, Healthcare Industry and Medical Technology, Education and Research, Logistics-Transport and Services.

The organizers opted for a design featuring 3 squares at the start, the middle and the end of the pavilion, which included a German products restaurant.

Music Events

As the organisers pride to mention on their website “The TIF has traditionally supported musical events (Greek Song Festival, International Music Days), contributing significantly and for many years to the promotion of new and classical sounds. In recent years, TIF's daily music concerts adapted to the new trends of the time, have taken over the entertainment of the numerous visitors who flock to enjoy top names and figures of the Greek music scene and beyond, satisfying the preferences of all ages”.

These events start after it gets dark, inside the premises of the Fair, left of the southern entrance.

MOMus Museum

Now we turn to walk up towards MOMus museum.

MOMus stands for The Metropolitan Organization of Museums of Visual Arts of Thessaloniki.

Inside the Fair, you can visit the branch of The Macedonian Museum of Contemporary Art.

Historic Cars

The space in front of Pavilion 15 has long been known for showcasing the latest car models. However, as you walk by, you're in for a delightful surprise—a stunning display of the city's historic cars! These beautifully preserved classics offer a nostalgic journey through automotive history, adding a unique charm to the fair's modern innovations.

Greek Ministries and Institutions

Under the auspices of the Chambers of the country and the Central Union of Chambers of Greece (participating for the 7th time), 47 Chambers with 350 businesses from all over Greece will be "present" in Pavilions 2 and 3. The Professional Chamber of Thessaloniki, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Thessaloniki, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Athens, the Industrial Chamber of Thessaloniki and the Chamber of Imathia have separate participations. The Chamber of Commerce of Thessaloniki is also developing the thematic section THESSBUILDING at Stand 16 with companies active in the wider industry of construction, hotel equipment, home furnishing, heating and repairs of metal products.

In the dedication to energy, together with construction and recycling, representative companies and businesses will participate that present innovative heating and cooling systems, specialized applications and products, but also interesting proposals for modern construction. The tribute is spread over 3,000 square meters, in outdoor (B7, B8, B10) and indoor spaces (10 and 9), with more than 60 entries.

Multidimensional in content is the program of events of the 88th TIF, which draws inspiration from culture, economy, society, technology and sports, beyond the purely exhibition component.

The Hobby Festival comes to enrich the special offerings of this year's TIF by offering a unique opportunity to get to know hobbies from professionals and organizations, who manage means and know-how of hobbyist activities and free time activities.

It is noted that more than 1,000 small and large gifts will be offered by the "Hidden Treasure Hunt" to which the 88th TEF invites its visitors. Every day more than 100 magnets, with the TIF-HELEXPO logo and its symbol, the OTE tower, will be hidden in all TIF areas (indoors and outside). Those who find the hidden treasure magnets, scan the QR code and immediately see what they won. All magnets win small or large prizes. The "Hidden Treasure Hunt" will offer its winners, among other things, gift certificates for department stores, luxury hotel stays, restaurant meals, furniture and home goods.

In Outdoor Space 10, the events of the RAAEF include a Painting Competition and Energy BOWLING.

Pop Art and Bites

This pavilion is a favourite among visitors and for two great reasons! First, it offers a unique opportunity to explore and interact with a wide range of products from around the world, including clothing, jewellery, and crafts—many of which you can touch and purchase at affordable prices. Second, it features free tastings of delicious Greek products like wine, cheese, and other local delicacies. If you love what you try, you can also take home some of these authentic Greek flavours!

Outdoor Pavilions

As we wrap up our walking tour of the 88th Thessaloniki International Fair, we come to the final but certainly not least section—the outdoor exhibits. Many exhibitors choose to rent open-air spaces, and as we walk through this vibrant area, you'll see why it's a popular choice for showcasing their offerings. From dynamic displays to larger installations, the outdoor pavilions are full of surprises!
