Best of Bali: Tanah Lot Temple (Pura Tanah Lot)

This Hindu shrine on the rock lies there from the 1600s.

It is 30 Km away from Denpasar.

This land in Balinese, is a holy place dedicated to the sea gods.

When the tide is low, you can walk to the base of Tanah Lot.

You cannot actually enter the temple, just admire it.

Many tourists prefer to gaze at the sunset there,

after visiting the other eight holy temples in the area.
